Huairou lies in the northeast of Beijing with total area of 2128.7km2, neighboring with Yanshan Mountain to the north and Huabei Plain to the south. It’s 50kms away from the city downtown, 30kms from the Capital Airport and 170kms from Tianjin harbor. It is accessible to Beijing directly along National road No. 101 and the new Jing-cheng Highway (an expressway from Beijing to Chengde). The new highway has three entrances and exits in Huairou, it will then take only 30 minutes to drive from Huairou to the city area. Huairou is equipped with a concentrated highway and railage network. There are three railways across the district and four terminals with handling capacity of 120,000,000 tons per year.
